Hobby Hero Awards 2008 - Category 11 - Best WFO Player

original thread ↗

Who should win the award?

Forgottenlor
16 (66.7%)
Patuljak
8 (33.3%)

24 votes · closed 20 Dec 2008

so the nomination are in and it's time to start voting for who the Ogre Stronghold members want to award the coveted title of Hobby Hero to this year.

A brand new category for the Hobby Hero awards this year, this Award is to celebrate the contribtuion to the Warhamer Fantasy Online section of the ogre stronghold. It encompasses skill as a general, sportmanship as a player and general contribution to the board (adding new maps, new icons, new ways to play the game etc) and it speaks volumes about the calibre of nominees that from al the nominations recieved, only two names were mentioned, each recieving a record number of votes (for the nomination process in general). and the nominees are

1: Forgottenlor

2: Patuljak

The polls will stay open until 20th December at which point we will crown this year's Hobby Heroes!

Thanks
Corai

Well that's why we play games of luck, to get repeatedly affirmed that the universe just wants to punch us in the face.

Da Green Menace (31 played): Wins:15 (6 massacres)   Draws:3   Losses:13 (6 massacres)
The Rockhide Tribe (Ogre Kingdoms): Wins:7 (3 massacres)  Draws:2  Losses:10 (4 massacre)

The Rockhide Tribe. Now in Color!
A great guy, and one who I could honestly call a friend, as much as one can in cyber space anyways... :) He's a great player, and takes everything in his stride :) Despite overwhelmingly bad luck, he managed to still display great shows of sportsmanship, and he makes every game fun :)

After all, painting 100 night goblins is something you do in the morning just before you are off to work.

And I think you missed a 0 when you wrote 11 armies. The correct nr should be 110 armies I would think, based on your painting speed.
I've also voted for forgottenlor - to be honest, all I do is play a lot of games, while he actually contributes a lot of things to that section of the forum - leagues, maps, and he's a great guy to play to boot. I think he deserves it ;)
Every man dies. Not every man truly lives.

Now that, is sportsmanship! :)

From the matches I have followed (albeit not being an online gamer) I tend towards forgottenlor and hope Patuljak takes it like a real sportsman.
Winner Last Man Standing II Princess Kosima Neferher of Lybaras (daughter of High Queen Khalida)
Runner up Last Man Standing Grollorg the Greedy Hand (slain by Scroth Skullrippa's Scalf)
Former King of the Maw Sho 'Lurrp IX. (assassinated)
Former King of the Maw Tusar III. (slain by Barney's Khor´garahut)

Do you know Bertram Beisenblitz and Speedus Killus? Find them in my Gnoblog at http://www.ogrestronghold.com/forum/index.php?topic=10084.msg132890#msg132890
Of the two, I've only played against Patuljak, he was ever the sportsman and made online play fun, a well deserved vote from me!

Well done and good luck to you both!

Ooh... This is too hard... Forgottenlor made up the league for us but then again I've never played him but I have played Patuljak 3 times... Lost every single match but they were great fun and he was a great sport about it. I have to say, my vote goes to Patuljak, for helping me get into WFO.

All I can do is agree with Everhunger. I have not played against Forgottenlor, but I don't doubt he is a great player. I have mostly played against Patuljak, lost every time big time, but I still have had great fun, despite my rolling, much thanks to Patuljak, so you have my vote mate ;)

Cheers

I haven't played against Patuljak, but I've both played forgottenlor (great dude) and participated in one of his leagues. My vote goes to him.
