so the nomination are in and it's tim to start voting for who the Ogre Stronghold members want to award the coveted title of Hobby Hero to this year.

Category  - Achievement in Storytelling, celebrates a members ability to tell the story of their army, or even a single character, interweaving the rich background of the warhammer Wolrd with new ideas and, of course, a great story. This year has seen two members stand out above all others so much so that they are the only two members to recieve a nomination for this award. The following are this years nominees. Please rememeber when voting that the award is for the achievement in Storytelling this year.

(thanks to Wildcard for providing the blurb text about my nomination!)

1: Corai
Good, readable fluff is always the crowning glory of an army, and Corai knows how to deliver.  His contributions to the Saga's on teh stronghold have been many this year, and all have been a joy to read. [Some examples follow Ed.]

2: Lexy
Lexy has always been an active and valued member of the Stronghold, but he has really distinguished himself this year as an exceptional storyteller. This is immeditaley apparent in the calibre of the Arena of Death story Lexy slaved over this summer which is recapped in full in the link below.

So there you have the nominees. The links I have given are only a brief example of the wonderful writing skills of these members, from little snippets of text within gnoblogs to entire short stories within the Mawpit sagas board.

The polls will stay open until 20th December at which point we will crown this year's Hobby Heroes!

Thanks
Corai

Love your stuff Corai. Nuff said. ;)
BOOM! Hur hur hur...

Proud leader of the Ironskin Tribe.
Lexy for me.
Killing stuff in so many memorable ways during the arena of death is what makes him a winner in my eyes :)

Reg06

Da Green Menace (31 played): Wins:15 (6 massacres)   Draws:3   Losses:13 (6 massacres)
The Rockhide Tribe (Ogre Kingdoms): Wins:7 (3 massacres)  Draws:2  Losses:10 (4 massacre)

The Rockhide Tribe. Now in Color!
Ironically, Corai's vote from me has nothing to do with ogre (or warhammer for that matter!) related fluff, but his tales about his self-made Supernatural squad from the SoTR system were outstanding, and I actually eagerly anticipated the next installments :) Well done mate :)

After all, painting 100 night goblins is something you do in the morning just before you are off to work.

And I think you missed a 0 when you wrote 11 armies. The correct nr should be 110 armies I would think, based on your painting speed.

Go Lexy go!
Winner Last Man Standing II Princess Kosima Neferher of Lybaras (daughter of High Queen Khalida)
Runner up Last Man Standing Grollorg the Greedy Hand (slain by Scroth Skullrippa's Scalf)
Former King of the Maw Sho 'Lurrp IX. (assassinated)
Former King of the Maw Tusar III. (slain by Barney's Khor´garahut)

Do you know Bertram Beisenblitz and Speedus Killus? Find them in my Gnoblog at http://www.ogrestronghold.com/forum/index.php?topic=10084.msg132890#msg132890
Lexy. Essentially the creator of the loveable boastful Orc, Wakka-Wakka, I have decided that only Lexy can properly write his fluff as I would simply insult it. I have to say I completely agree with Barney on the killing things.
Known as Evii.

Evii, you speak sense

This is Livalil. He is the little devil on my shoulder.

This is Edward the Vampire Gnoblar. He is the king of epic fail.
