Gnoblog-The bloodweeper Tribe
Finally! My Ogre Kingdoms battalian arived!
For now I'm ignoring the Gnoblars, I'm tired of painting little guys and I
can barely wait to get my greasy pink paws on my ogres. I'm in too much of a
hurry to make each model the masterpiece I had intended-but I should be getting
about a C for effort and average is good enough for me.
I'll post pictures soon-but for now you'll have to use your imaginations (So prepare for
disapointment).
Happy story; After my Ochre paint exploded, I realized that it matched the blue and grey's
I'm using pretty well and that is good enough for me-Ochre is now the color of my Ironguts
breaches-this <Probably> has <almost> nothing to do with the fact that the lower halves of
2 of the IG's ended up covered in that color anyway.
SM.
Hey guys, this is my first post here so be gentle ;-) It's also my first OK army so this may not be as competitive as I would like it. That is exactly why I'm posting it here for your opinions-help me make an army that I can win a few games with ;-)
The Bloodweeper Tribe
-These devout ogres are the guardians of Fire Mouth, each year they help organize and oversee the grand feast. Every member of the tribe has cast an eye into the great volcano, a small sacrifice for the privilege of living in the shadow of the sacred mountain.
-Characters-
Tyrant; Mawseeker, Siegebreaker, Jade Lion *Although a Tyrant who has taken the pilgrimage to the great maw, and wields an obsidian club fits perfectly into my fluff, I'm not entirely convinced on the build. Would it work?
Butcher; Bangstick
Butcher; Dispel Scroll
Butcher; Dispel Scroll
-Core-
3 Bulls; Bellower +10

3 Ironguts; *I would like bellowers on these guys...would it be worth dropping the fighters for?
3 Ironguts;

3 Ironguts;
8 Gnobblar Trappers;
20 Gnobblar Fighters;
-Special-
2 Leadbelchers; Bellower
2 Leadbelchers; Bellower *My fluff puts the army in a volcanic region, so I decided against yhetis-with that said a single unit of yhetis would be cheaper than these guys and could improve the build-what do you think?

One question first, do you intend to make this a gnoblog, or are you just looking for army list help?
It's a pretty good start on your first army.
Tyrant- Decent. I suggest swapping out the Siegebreaker for the Tenderiser, because the Tenderiser just rocks. The Jade Lion and Mawseeker combo is a good one. Just watch out for really deadly one shot things (like a cannon)- without a ward save you don't have a really reliable defense. But T6 makes you all but immune to infantry attacks, and if you toss on a toothcracker spell you'll be completely immune to S3 attacks.
Butchers- I really like the skullmantle, and recommend fitting it in there somewhere. Other than that, not bad. I prefer more scrolls, but if you don't have the points no biggie.
Bulls- Perfect.
Ironguts- Good. Bellowers are nice on these guys, but since they are already ld8 and shouldn't be fleeing too often it might not be worth it. I only take bellowers on my 'guts if I have leftover points.
Trappers- Good. Take a unit every battle. A unit of 9 is a worthy upgrade, since it increases the number of models you have to lose for a panic test by 1, and is still easy to hide.
Fighters- Good. Again, increasing the unit by 1 means you are more resistant to panic checks.
Leadbelchers- I love them. I wouldn't switch them out for yhetees, but that's just because I like belchers so much. Ogres special choices are all down to personal taste.
Gorgers- perfect.
And welcome to the Stronghold.
If by RAW, you mean "Reg06's Audacious Whims", then you'd be right.

Thanks for the feedback, I was just posting an army list-so I'm sorry if I put it in the wrong section. What does a gnoblog entail? I might just decide to turn this into one at that. On the Leadbelchers, is two-units much more useful than the upgrades I could pull off by dropping one (Adding scrolls, potentially switching to the tenderiser, increasing gnoblar units and potentially making room for a few more bellowers?)?
Thanks again, and if this is in the wrong location (assuming I can't turn it into a gnoblog for some reason, how would I go about getting it moved-I'm sorry for my ignorance in the matter).

A gnoblog is an army diary that tracks the progress of your army's creation- you'll find many, many examples in this subforum (in fact, pretty much every other thread). If you intend to turn this into a gnoblog at some point, this is indeed the right section.
If it needs to be moved, any mod can do that.
If by RAW, you mean "Reg06's Audacious Whims", then you'd be right.

Well-then I will turn it into a gnoblog, I'll leave it alone for now and starting when I buy my first piece I'll begin the gnobloging process ;-) I expect to be painting within another three or four days and I'll make some time to post pictures. Is it ok to leave this up for now then? If not, deleting it wouldin't hurt my feelings too bad-but since I haven't even bought my first piece yet-I think a gnoblog would be fun.
