Death throws for certain units. New Idea.

Okay so i thought up this kinda special rule for Ogre Only models. This rule applies to Tyrants, bruisers, bulls and ironguts only.

Ogres are so big and full of fat, muscle, tissue, and blood, that even a killing blow to an exposed neck, face or groin, wont immediately fell one of these powerful foes. The Ogre would flail furiously at such a thinling that might actually kill it. Whenever a Tyrant, Bruiser, Bull, or irongut takes enough wounds to be taken off the table as a causalty, you may make one d6 (strength of model) attack with a -2 to armor save.

This would maybe allow for the much much smaller units of Ogres to compete with decent characteristic models such as a large unit of ironbreakers, or wardancers or something.
There were rumors before the Dark Elves came out similar to this, it was going to be called spite, and the model would be able to make it's regular attacks if they strike later in battle, even if they are killed.
I thought it was a good idea at the time, and it would work with ogres the way you describe the fluff of it. Very interesting.

Manticore        Lord of Change    Beastlord
Chaos Lord     Warsphinx            Bray Shaman
Interesting, but I'm not convinced Ogre models need the rule as much as you think.
That misspelling had me thinking of a whole different rule :D

I like the general idea, how about:

Timber!-After losing its last wound in Close Combat an Ogre unit (i.e. a Model that can Bull Charge) May inflict a single hit with Strength equal to its Toughness on each enemy in base contact at Initiative 0 as its tremendous bulk collapses upon its killers.
maybe with the "timber" rule you could hit on the enemy's iniative to see if he can heroicly dive-roll out of the way  :P
