Hello everyone, here is a new version of that chronically underused orc unit, arrer boyz. What I've tried to do here with these changes is multi-fold. For one, their move to special and added special rules is there to represent how genuinely unusual these boys are compared to the normal orc. There is definitely something a little off about an orc who picks up a bow in the first place! Secondly, the addition of the skirmish rule completely eliminates all of the ranking problems that have plagued arrer boyz for about five editions. Now they can be arranged in any formation you like without bowstrings being stuck in painful locations. Finally, with the concept of the orc bow, I've introduced some modeling flexibility. An orc bow can as easily represented by a modified, pirated crossbow as it can by a bow as thick as an arm. If a modeler felt so inclined, he could compose his arrer boy unit with either the original models or he could convincingly use Ruglud's armored orcs for the same job.
Let me know what you think.
