Well,
with the release of the new Warriors of Chaos just around the corner and the Tale of X Gamers just getting started, I thought, what better to collect than a brand new Chaos army! I'm planning to hopefully reach around the 2000 point mark with an army devoted to the Blood God, preferably with a low model count.
I have collected Chaos before, reaching around 3000 points before selling, trading or misplacing most of that army. All I have left is a couple of badly painted Warriors and Marauders, a bunch of Champions, and Archaon.
So I'm starting from scratch this time.
I haven't been involved with the hobby seriously for a long time, although I've bought and built a 2000pt Empire army. I've only painted 10 Swordsmen for all of that, so I'm not exactly prolific, and all but 5 of my paints and 2 of my inks have dried up. I'm left with two shades of grey, tin bitz, shining gold, goblin green, and red and chestnut inks.
So obviously I've got a lot of work to do.
(Goal Post)
Today, using just my very limited supply of paints, I painted this Khorne Champion I was given as a present 2 years ago - he'll lead the army and is an indication of what it'll look like, although he's still WIP. The base, his weapons, and anything that's supposed to be silver is not done yet, because I have literally no choice with what colours I use...
The army as a whole will probably have snow bases, because I think the white will provide a nice contrast to the red & gold of their armour. As you can see I'm no expert painter, but my army will at least appear very unified.

Edit:
I've always been an avid Chaos player, and with great new models like the Chosen and the Lord on Juggernaut, how could I resist?
I've chosen to focus my army around Khorne (although not undisputedly - Chaos warbands march all around the wastes, killing most who come up against them but if they prove worthy opponents, recruiting them to their side. Thus there may not only be Khorne units in my army.) I had an idea shortly after watching "The Dark Knight" for a group of warriors who go around starting fights just to see what will happen. It followed that they should be Khorne followers and then the army just spawned out of that.
I plan on having 3 Champions in the army - the one above, and the new Khorne champions on foot and Jugger respectively. They're too good to pass up! Fluffwise, the two foot Champions would be brothers and the Jugger rider their father.
With every model in the army, I'm going to try and give them axes wherever possible. Shields also don't fit the Khorne theme in my opinion - I'd rather give them two hand weapons - but in an army with no scouts (or flyers if the Furies are out) they're probably going to need a bit of extra help against missile fire.
I also bought an absolutely beautiful Giant off ebay that I might be employing. It's one of the older metal models, which I like much better than the current plastic version (the Chaos parts just look silly IMHO).
The strategy of any Khorne army is pretty much "Charge!" with very little in between. I plan on bringing in a few things I never used to use in my Chaos armies - ie, Warhounds as screens and small units of Marauders to act as detachments (the value of which I learned in my Empire days!) This will let me pick my charges if I'm lucky and will provide support to my combat units - or else, if the Warhounds get shot down too fast, the Marauders will step in as speedbumps & screens.
I'm all for this army representing a tough, battle-hardened warband from deep in the Wastes. It follows that the army will be mostly Warriors and Knights - few Marauders could survive up here, and those that do are working their asses off to become warriors.
So,I've got a paint scheme, a general idea of what I'm going to use in the army and how I'm going to use it. Now I just have to start buying some Warriors!

Gaming-wise, it is currently illegal, but could be put ammends by a seriously well thought through set of house rules
Aesthetically, you can do what the heck you like
