I'll give that a try as I must say, the "tabletop" view is much better :)

I've seen the model today, and I've got to strongly agree with WC. It looks hell better on tabletop.

definitley a massive improvement over the last one. Te metals in particular look great, and I imagine the green realy works on a 28 mm model (instead of the 160mm one I'm seeing on my screen ;)). The onyl addition I'd maie is to paint the eyes of the skull, probably in the same glowing colour you'll be using for the necrotite furnaces.

Have you given any thought to basing yet?

Thanks
Corai

actually the basing is giving me a few issues - mainly because their just isn't much space on a bane thrall or bane knight base!  I'll probably go for something very simple for these though - not sure what yet though...

I'll give the glowing eyes a try too :)

Depending on what look you go for for the basing textured plasticard is great for things like cobbles or planking... and the depth matches the PP bases rim almost exactly
Took me 2 weeks to realise i have a trade gnoblar, Squinky ->

you're a sick man stone dog   excellent idea!
Well, I had my first game of warmachine on fridaya gainst Corai and his dwarves.  I've found that I like the game system a lot and was particularly impressed with some of the models.

1) the cankerworm can rip apart units of infantry on its own quite happily - I used it to take out 4 guys from a unit (can't remember the name of it right now) and the piper of ord in one turn - I could have continued the assult but decided to pull him back for a rest instead...

2) the bane knights can hold up well with their exta attacks from shadow shifting - and the movement ability can be very useful too. 4 of them managed to get Gorten down to only 2 life.

3) the deathjack is a monster!  It swatted the driller heavy jack like a fly.

The game lasted 3 turns really

turn 1: we both move stuff up and corai takes a few shots.  I moved stuff about and got charged at by my deathjack I'd placed too far away to give focus too - no contact with anything though.

turn 2: Corai's moves stuff again and gets his driller stuck into a bane knight unit, killing one.  I stick the deathjack into his driller, swatting it and the cankerworm into the infantry unit - killing most of it and taking out the piper of ord too.

turn 3: Corai puts shots into the cankerworm, killing it, then charges gorten into the bane knight unit and kills several, but takes lots of wounds himself.  I moved gorshade as far as I could, used his feat and deployed the bane thralls as far forward as possible and managed to charge one into gorten's rear, killing him.

Corai also got to see the bane thrall IRL and has given me some tips on better photographing so some bette shots should be up soon.
